You’re warmly invited to meet the technicians from the engine room who keep the dealership ticking. Feel free to bring a partner or ‘plus one’ and join us for drinks and snacks.
This is a relaxed opportunity to put faces to names and have a chat.
Meet the Team
Glynn – Our Lead Technician, not just Harleys, but multi-talented including a history of cars, dirt bikes, road bikes, rotaries and hot rods. A true all-rounder, Glynn spent more than 10 years as a computer technician, a background that’s become a huge asset in the workshop.
Craig – Technician. Craig has over 10 years of hands-on experience working on motorcycles, cars and trucks. You’ll likely find Craig out at Ruapuna track days on his days off. He’s raced cars extensively and is a former multi-car champion, which explains the precision, patience, and zero-panic approach he brings to every job.
Mark – Technician. Mark has worked on many brands of motorcycles over the past 22 years including 10 years with Auckland Harley-Davidson where he was highly regarded for his workmanship and skills. Mark and his family are moving to the mainland and we are thrilled to have him join the team.
Isaac – Our former Service Manager, now working on a range of diverse projects and doing fun stuff like preparing for the Sound of Thunder. He is still very much part of the Southern Legends family and available here for specialist work as required. Isaac has always been a true legend with our last three H.D. dealers.
Phil – Workshop Assistant & Groomer. As our bike detailer, Phil keeps every ride gleaming, including our service bikes. He’s excited to welcome riders, share stories, and get involved in rides and rallies throughout 2026, and you’ll also spot him leading the odd shop ride along the way.
Morris (Mo) – Our Service Coordinator who has great organisational skills, well honed after 25 years as a successful business owner. He aims to please and welcomes all feedback. If there is any issue he appreciates the opportunity to solve it. Call Mo directly on 03-353-2421 for workshop queries or bookings.
A Few Things to Know
- We’d also like to thank you for your patience. We’ve experienced a workshop backlog in recent months and apologise for any delays in getting bookings underway.
- The good news is… we’re now well and truly back on track, and booking times are more convenient for most riders.
- We are now open from 7.30am for service drop-offs.
- You may request a preferred technician for your bike each time it comes in.
- Our techs are happy to sit down with you and talk about any modifications you want for your bike and they are happy to make suggestions. For $50.00 they will give you up to 30 minutes of expertise. Money well-spent when you don’t want to make mistakes. The $50.00 is credited to the job if you get the mods done within 2 months.
- If you believe your bike is not running or riding well, our service coordinator or technicians may suggest what the problem is, but will not diagnose your bike without it being in the workshop.
- When we provide a service estimate, we aim for the final invoice to be no more than 25% over the estimated price. If additional costs are likely, we will always call you before proceeding.
- Our workshop systems, tooling and equipment is of a high standard. This is an advantage in performing technical work in an efficient and timely manner.
- Technicians have ongoing training with HDU (Harley-Davidson University). Significant investment is made to keep all technicians up with the latest play.
- We can perform motorcycle tuning using Power Vision.
- If you require a WOF, we may be able to fit this in while you wait, just ask when making your booking. You’re welcome to relax in our customer lounge and enjoy the coffee machine.
- For longer jobs, we can drive you home or to your work if it’s within 5km. This is free and is a trial service running from now until the end of April. Please let us know at the time of booking if you’d like to use it.
- We’re experienced working on most motorcycle brands.
- We have a fastidious groomer available to brighten up your ride.
